Ballroom Dance Chicago was established by Matthew Sove and Szewai Lee in 2007 in order to promote social dance. BDC has recently expanded and will not only support the social dance community, but also the arts community in general; BDC now hopes to attract artists of diverse mediums by offering a spacious, easily accessible studio at affordable rates. Come join a welcoming community that encourages creative and artistic expression.

MissionWe believe dance has the ability to create strong bonds between people. For that reason, we offer quality and affordable private lessons and group classes accessible to everyone. We teach various styles of ballroom and Latin dances and specialize in wedding dance lessons that are personalized to each couple’s needs and desires.Community SpaceIn addition to promoting social dance, we support artists and movement practitioners by providing space for creative use at affordable rates. Space can be rented for rehearsals, classes, auditions, showings, exhibitions, and other events. Rates: $10/hr for rehearsals, $20/hr for classes, TBD for other eventsAvailability: Monday thru Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
