Mordine & Co. Dance Theater, now in its 46th year of making innovative dances, presents Cast By the Sun: Light Play in 3 Parts. Dance, light and shadow examine the moment of invention, the revelation of desire, and the invention of the self as witnessed through motion, stillness, and gesture. Form and movement of the body define the space and reveal the fulfillment of one’s intentions and the consequences of desire. Set and Lighting Design by Josh Weckesser offer shifting experiences of light and shadow. An original score performed live by percussionist Peter Ferry creates a cavernous and spacious soundscape.
Also on the program, two works from Company repertory: Early Being (1988) and Thin Ice (1991).
