The holidays are not complete without taking the family to see the Ballet Chicago production of The Nutcracker, performed by more than 150 cast members, ages 3 to adult. Now in its 18th consecutive year, Ballet Chicago is presenting this holiday classic from Dec. 13 – Dec. 21 at Chicago’s historic Athenaeum Theatre, located at 2936 N. Southport Ave. Ballet Chicago will also perform three shows exclusively for school children, as part of its annual outreach programs.
Ballet Chicago welcomes American Girl Place® as its lead sponsor for this year’s Nutcracker production. This sponsorship recognizes the year-long partnership that has included cross-promotional activities, events, dance classes for American Girl Place® customers, and special performances. American Girl Place® has also contributed a variety of beautiful dolls for the Party Scene in Act 1 of this year’s Nutcracker.

Holiday-shopping opportunities will abound at this year’s Nutcracker performances. Loads of holiday gifts will be available in the Athenaeum lobby with a donation to Ballet Chicago. This is the organization’s biggest fundraising performance event of the year, so come out and support a great, internationally renowned school of ballet. Tickets range from $16 to $30, with children’s tickets priced at only $14 (for children 10 years old and under). Group rates are available for groups of 10 or more.
