This will be an open conversation about our attitude when creating new work. The workshop will explore the tools and processes developed by award-winning, critically-acclaimed devising companies from across the UK and Spain (Babakas [UK], Temple Theatre[UK], Limbik theatre [UK], Mirage[Spain] and DeCollage[Spain]).
We will tackle core concepts that give structure to our creative process: generosity, imitation and affection. Creativity doesn’t stop or run out, what stops it is the end of a strategy. We will explore the possibilities of lateral/oblique thinking/making.
The workshop will involve improvisation and will be physical. Prepare to work fast and surprise yourself!
This master class is ideal for professional and semi-professional actors, directors and theatre practitioners, is designed to help them understand how to use creative strategies as a tool to devise new theatre. Please bring with you loose, comfortable clothing for movement work.
