Event Description

Vision, Faith & Desire (VFD) began in early 2013 as a collaborative venture between Ms. Haun and Ms. Leopold. The project’s goal is to provide a platform for artists to situate their choreographic voices within the rich historical lineage of modern dance. VFD II represents a continuation of this goal by presenting additional artists who are a part of a lineage to the technique and choreography of modern dance’s iconic leader, Martha Graham. In its September 2013 performances, VFD garnered great critical acclaim, including features in the Huffington Post, WTTW’s new Artbeat: Inside the Arts Blog, Dance Teacher magazine, RogueBallerina.com, and many others.

Vision, Faith, & Desire II: Dancemakers Inspired by Martha Graham will be co-presented by Winifred Haun & Dancers and the Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events February 6-8 at the Pritzker Pavilion, in doors on the stage. The program will feature works by: Randy Duncan, Winifred Haun, and Lizzie Leopold. Jeff Hancock and former Graham principal dancer Paul Sansardo and his Company, Paul Sansardo & Dancers, will premiere new works.
