Event Description

YOU slowly composes itself from an ensemble movement practice that mediates human connection and togetherness for everyone in the room. In a forward-moving progression of strutting and skipping, the dancers lock-in-stride, and, together, overcome not knowing the audience. Their overture progresses to reveal personality, group practice, the nature of one-on-one conversations and cross-talk, while drawing upon private information, the ensemble instinct, counting, the systems in the room, and the presence of the audience. Recognition from viewers and dancers is the ultimate form togetherness. It looks good on everyone and so back and forth it goes.

“The work takes us through the thorny, exhilarating, devastating process of acquaintance and familiarity with tremendous subtlety and nuance. And it begins with a sexy bang”. MNartists. Org

“They dance with determination and a high level of physical propulsion while looking like outcasts from a very peculiar marching band. It’s an excellent visual”. Star Tribune, Claude Peck
