Summer is finally here!

 

Please join dancemaker Yoshinojo Fujima and Shodo Artist Hekiun Oda, and music by The Reduction Trio for:   “『夏』 Summer Thoughts” .

 

A collaborative performance integrating elements of Japanese Music, Dance, and Calligraphy. 

 

Reflective statements from one’s mind are a potentially revealing glimpse of the true self....

...Featuring Haiku verses from two of “the Great Four” of Haiku:  Matsuo Basho and Kobayashi Issa, elements of Summer Festivals, Dance, and Traditional Music....Come experience a particular glimpse of Summer....

 ” [ 夏 ] Summer Thoughts” is just one of the many exhibits, events, and performances happening during the Chicago / Obihiro Artist Exchange at Elastic Arts and the Hairpin Arts Center. It is an immersive exchange between Japanese-American artists in Chicago and artists from the Obihiro area, focusing on expanding the discourse of post-war Asian & Asian American experiences through contemporary art.  Presented by Asian Improv aRts Midwest (AIRMW)
