Bodies of Work is seeking artists, scholars and arts organizations engaged in creating disability art and culture to be a part of the 2021 Bodies of Work Festival of Disability Arts and Culture. Learn more below and apply!

The festival will take place across the Chicagoland area in June, 2021.

What is Bodies of Work?
Bodies of Work (BOW) is a network of artists and organizations that serves as a catalyst for the creation of disability arts and culture that illuminate the disability experience in new and unexpected ways. BOW engages thousands of people throughout Chicago with ongoing programming and festivals. 

What is the Bodies of Work Festival of Disability Art and Culture?
The 2021 Bodies of Work Festival seeks to create a space for disability centric art and conversation. This festival will take place in a variety of venues throughout Chicago and will feature both emerging and established artists, organizations, and scholars whose work engages with disability as aesthetic, content, and/or form. Artists and scholars from around the world will present work that is recognized for its high quality and engagement with disability-related themes. We are interested in work from any medium, including theater, dance, stand-up comedy, drag performance, music, literature, poetry, spoken word, film, visual arts, exhibitions, workshops, roundtables, lectures, panel discussions, and more. 

Who can apply?
We invite applications for all of the following: Hosting venues, Artists/Scholars/Presenters, Individuals interested in Volunteering.
