Adult basic level ballet technique with Vannessa Lake. Live piano accompaniment by Una Stroda.

Taking part in an adult ballet class is good for your body as well as your mind. Besides promoting cardiovascular fitness and posture this introductory class provides a welcoming environment for adults with no prior experience. In this level you will learn the basic positions and concepts of Ballet with exercises at the Barre and in the center.

Take the class in-person with a mask in our Studio II (cap of 23 dancers) or take it virtually through MindBody Online Livestream.

Registration closes 1 hour in advance of in-person classes and 15 minutes in advance of virtual classes. For virtual classes - after your purchase and registration are complete, you will receive login credentials via email 15 minutes prior to your class start time.

For those with prior experience in ballet, Adult Beginner Ballet with Vannessa Lake is available on Mondays, from 7:00 – 8:30pm.

Adult Beginner/Intermediate Ballet with Vannessa Lake is available on Thursdays, from 6:00 – 7:30pm and Saturdays, from 9:30 – 11:00am.

While the City of Chicago has lifted the mask mandate, The Ruth Page Center for the Arts continues to require mask-wearing in all public spaces of our building, regardless of vaccination status. This includes the lobby, dressing rooms, restrooms, hallways, and in our studios for classes hosted by the Ruth Page School of Dance.

We will no longer enact vaccine verification for day-to-day operations.
