Event Description

Overview:
Since Ballet Chicago's Male Scholarship Program began in 2002, over 100 talented young men have participated in Ballet Chicago's exceptional training programs. Of these men, over 30 are currently dancing in professional companies throughout the US, Europe, and South America.

Ballet Chicago is an internationally recognized professional-track school of ballet dedicated to rigorous technical training in a culture that fosters personal growth. The School curriculum is based on the ballet technique established by George Balanchine who revolutionized the art form by expanding and streamlining the fundamentals of classical ballet. Artistic Director Daniel Duell and Associate Artistic and School Director Patricia Blair, along with Ballet Chicago's esteemed faculty, provided one of the highest caliber curriculums in the nation.

Directed and taught by Artistic Director Daniel Duell, Associate Artistic Director Patricia Blair, and faculty member Ted Seymour, Ballet Chicago's male training curriculum includes combined technique classes, men's technique, partnering, performance of world-class repertoire in major Chicago venues, body conditioning, and career counseling. Incorporating highest standards of quality execution from the simplest basics to virtuoso steps, Ballet Chicago's training develops pure, well-rounded technique. Male dancers graduate from Ballet Chicago's program with a strong performance resume of established Balanchine masterpieces and choreography by Ted Seymour, Daniel Duell, and others, gaining professional level experience at a pre-professional level through participation in the Ballet Chicago Studio Company. Artistic excellence is accomplished within Ballet Chicago's renowned atmosphere of positive reinforcement.
