The air dates for DDCF 2021 are tentatively September 8-12 and will be filmed tentatively on August 27, 28, 29, or 30, at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Choreographers Showcase
Air Date: Tentatively Saturday, September 11, 2021
Time: Tentatively 7 PM
Filming Date & Location: Tentatively August 27, 28, or 29, Detroit Film Theatre, at the Detroit Institute of Arts
The Choreographers Showcase is one of DDCF's most highly anticipated indoor performance events, providing a platform for choreographers to present their work on the majestic Detroit Film Theatre stage. DDCF's Choreographers Showcase is an opportunity to bring together artists and dancers from around the world to share their current projects with each other, and with DDCF audiences alike. Pieces will be thoughtfully selected to showcase an inclusive representation of local, national, and international talent.
DDCF FESTIVAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM
All accepted Choreographers Showcase participants will automatically be considered for the DDCF Festival Exchange Program. This unique initiative gives presenters at the 2021 Choreographers Showcase the opportunity to be selected to perform their work again the following year at one of DDCF's partnering international festivals, listed below. Festival Exchange Program recipients will be selected from among our Choreographer Showcase presenters by a panel of adjudicators who represent excellence and expertise in the field.
*National Opportunities:
One Choreographer will be selected for the opportunity to perform at the 2022 Dumbo Dance Festival in New York, NY.
One Choreographer will be selected for the opportunity to return as a guest performer at the 2022 Detroit Dance City Festival.
*International Opportunity:
One Choreographer will be selected for the opportunity to perform at the 2022 New Dance Festival in Daejeon, South Korea.

Filming Date & Location: Tentatively Monday, August 30, at Rivera Court located in the beautiful atrium of the Detroit Institute of Arts
As the main event of our lunch time showcase, DDCF’s “Rivera Court Stage” is a series of performance showcases taking place in Rivera Court located in the beautiful atrium of the Detroit Institute of Arts. This unique showcase is designed to highlight local, national, and international talent, sharing diverse styles of dance with DDCF audiences in an inspiring museum setting.

Friday Dance Battle

Always a highlight of DDCF, the Friday Dance Battle is an exciting late night event that brings our community together in celebration of dance through a nighttime dance battle featuring performances by dance crews and hip hop artists from Detroit and beyond. Friday Dance Battle is an evening of celebration, music, and movement all in one.You can apply to participate in the dance battle or as a performer during the show!
