Join us for the 4th Annual Pivot Arts Celebrate Community! Parade! This event brings our neighborhood, arts, and greater Chicago communities together in celebration of our diversity and uniqueness. So come march with us and feel free to bring your costumes, decorated bikes, puppets, music, banners, t-shirts… or just bring yourself! Participating groups include: Merry Music Makers, Asian Human Services, CircEsteem, Barrel of Monkeys, Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop, Iraqi Mutual Aid Association, Storytown Improv, Rogers Park Montessori School, Walkabout Theater and more! Our parade culminates with the performance MONUMENTS by Walkabout with design elements from the renowned Studio Gang architectural firm and interactive workshops at Senn Park Playlot that are fun for the whole family.
Walkabout’s MONUMENTS transforms a public space into a dynamic exploration of human structures, tributes, and remembrance. Ten stilt dancers move through a sea of interactive, scenic elements. With original stilt choreography by Kristina Isabelle, Walkabout’s newest summer spectacle challenges the desire for permanence in a fluid dance of imbalance and change.
