Event Description

Chicago Dances features six of Chicago’s leading contemporary dancers and present world-premiere works by three Chicago-based choreographers. The cast of Chicago Dances is Jonathan Alsberry, Kara Brody, Christian Denice, Noelle Kayser, Lizzie MacKenzie, and Benjamin Wardell, with Brandon Coleman apprenticing. They will premiere new creations by choreographers Shannon Alvis, Kevin Iega Jeff, and Ahmad Simmons. Additionally, each of the four Chicago Dances performance will highlight a different Chicago dancer/choreographer, each of whom will perform a short work they have created. We will also present a dance film featuring former Hubbard Street rehearsal director Lucas Crandall, choreographed by Michael Gross. The schedule of guest artists is as follows:

December 14 – Alice Klock and Florian Lochner (Hubbard Street)

December 15 – Autumn Eckman (The Cambrians)

December 16 – Erin Kilmurry (The Inconvenience)

December 17 – Joshua Ishmon (Deeply Rooted)
