Comedy Dance Chicago (CDC) is a group of comedians and dancers who combine sketch comedy, physical comedy, and dance to tell stories in feel-good and visually-hilarious ways! Our goal is to tell stories, inspire laughter, and bring joy.

CDC is holding general auditions for the 2020-2021 season. New members will begin performing with the group as early as Summer 2020. Performances will be in Chicago and the surrounding Chicagoland area and are ongoing and as scheduled.

Rehearsals: Thursdays, 7-9pm (in general; others scheduled as needed)
Show dates: Ongoing and as scheduled
Pay: Includes both paid and unpaid performances ($25-$100 per performance depending)

Requirements! CDC is seeking performers who are/have:
-strong stage presence (minimum 2 years experience)
-comfortable with movement
-basic dance experience (preferably in multiple types of dance)
-comfortable speaking to and interacting with audience members
-enjoy creating physical-based work
-experienced with sketch comedy pitching, writing, and performing
-collaborative / a team player
-strong work ethic and positive attitude

Who should audition?
All skin colors, body types, gender identities, sexualities, backgrounds, ages (18+) are welcome. We’re looking for a variety of personalities with various senses of humor.

Material To Prepare:
Familiarize yourself with CDC’s style and purpose (visit the CDC website). The audition will operate like a workshop and will consist of short form improv, physical games, and choreography. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, bring water, and come prepared to have fun!

Audition Process:
STEP 1: Please submit headshot and resume to by Saturday February 8, 2020 at 11:59pm.
Subject line should read: “[Your Full Name] Audition” i.e. “Sarah Smith Audition”
STEP 2: Once confirmed, attend audition on Sunday, February 23, 2020.
