Giordano Dance Chicago (GDC) returns to the Harris Theater stage this spring with a world premiere by GDC veteran, Autumn Eckman.  Celebrating a history with the Company that spans 20 years, Eckman returns to create her tenth work for Giordano set to an original score by composer Dan Myers.  This will be the second time Eckman and Myers have collaborated.  Their first project, commonthread, quickly became a beloved favorite among dancers and audience members alike.  While this new collaboration is decidedly different than commonthread, the interplay of dance to music and music to dance is fresher, more magical, and more symbiotic than ever.  The Spring Series also features the reconstruction of Nan Giordano’s celebratory work Taal.  Set to a score of Indian artists, Taal fuses qualities of Giordano’s classic jazz style with nods to the exquisite traditional Indian dances.  Rounding out the program is Ray Mercer’s go-for-broke Shirt Off My Back, Joshua Blake Carter’s Rat Pack inspired Take A Gambol, Brock Clawson’s vulnerable and intimate If I Could… and conclude your night with Ray Leeper's sultry, sexy and sly Feelin' Good Sweet.

Lauded as “one of our city’s foremost cultural treasures” by See Chicago Dance, GDC’s performances promise to astound even the most seasoned dance enthusiast. Join America’s original jazz dance company at the Harris Theater.
