Event Description

TUESDAY'S AND THURSDAY'S 9:15am-9:45am

IMAGE TECH is a weight-bearing, somatic technique consisting of standing exercises, imagery, and tactile prompts designed to increase awareness, alignment, and stability while preparing dancers for demonstrative vertical dance techniques. Created by Alexandra Wells in the year 2000, IMAGE TECH is inspired by the Alexander Technique and the work of anatomist Irene Dowd. IMAGE TECH is continually evolving as dancers from all over the world experience its utility. While dancers may feel immediate benefits after just one class, it takes focused practice of IMAGE TECH to alter habitual patterns and create space for healthy new habits.
