Event Description

Perceptual Motion, Inc. features a sneak peek at dances to be performed at the
Ruth Page Center for the Arts in June. Included are Shook's newest work, "Where the Sky Meets the Sea", a trio for 3 women inspired by Lake Michigan in the early morning; the company favorite "Poles Apart"; Harvard Vallance's "Dance 101" and the premiere of the dance created from PMI's "Your Ideas in Motion Contest*"  held in January.

Choreographers Lin Shook, Harvard Vallance and PMI dancers will discuss the new works and answer questions from the audience.

*The "Your Ideas in Motion Contest"  is an invitation for people to send in their ideas for a dance they'd like to see choreographed. Submissions are drawn out of a hat in mid January. The winner is given opportunity to participate in the choreographic process in whatever way they wish. (attending rehearsals, participate in brainstorming sessions, collaborate in choosing music, costumes, props, participate in a Critical Response Session and even perform in the dance alongside PMI dancers). The finished dance is performed at Perceptual Motion, Inc.'s annual concert at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts.
