Event Description

After a series of great small group connections at our last couple of convenings, we are switching it up. This month, please join us to meet some new faces in our community. Guests include:

Princess Mhoon-- Princess Mhoon is a Chicago native and the Strategic Program Manager for the Chicago Black Dance Legacy Project at The Reva & David Logan Center for the Arts. She is an acclaimed director, choreographer and dance scholar. Mhoon is also the founder of the Princess Mhoon Dance Institute located in Washington, DC.

LaChae Mottley--LeChae Mottley, LSW (she, her, hers) is a career counselor at The Actors Fund’s Central Region office in Chicago. She specializes in connecting performing arts and entertainment professionals to sustainable and fulfilling career options through counseling, workshops and job search coaching. Since 2015, LeChae has been providing case management, counseling and trauma therapy services to clients in Chicago. With these experiences, LeChae continues to integrate trauma informed care and antioppressive social work perspectives into her work as a career counselor. Through the Career Center, entertainment professionals learn how to reach economic and personal fulfilment in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.

Matt Wilson-- Matthew A. Wilson is an Emmy Award winner, TED speaker and the new Workforce Account Manager for The Career Center at The Actors Fund. He believes all performing artists have the right to a stable income and benefits. Having navigated a 20-year career in the Entertainment Industry as well as the current job market, he is uniquely suited to advocate for his colleagues as the arts continue to recover. The Actors Fund is for everyone in entertainment, so please reach out to learn more about our services.

We'll hear from each of them about their work and vision for dance and dancers in Chicago. And there will be plenty of time for conversations and questions. See you there! Attendees will receive an email confirmation with the Zoom meeting ID and password upon registration.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! We want as many thoughts, ideas, and voices in these conversations as possible. Encourage your friends, colleagues, and peers (regardless of SCD membership status) to join the conversation on November 18.
