In Progress: Robyn Mineko Williams

Event Type
Talk/Discussion
Event Description
Chicago-based choreographer Robyn Mineko Williams presents material and selections from her upcoming work, Echo Mine, inspired by and created alongside late Chicago dance icon and founding Hubbard Street dancer Claire Bataille. Produced by the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, In Progress is a series of public programs designed to give artists, thinkers, and curators a platform for developing new works, and to give patrons a glimpse into the creative process. This series creates a forum for conversation and interaction in the museum’s new space, the Commons, located on the east side of its second floor. The event also includes a “reverse Q&A” — an opportunity for Williams to pose questions to event attendees about Echo Mine. Admission is free and open to the public; museum admission is also free to Illinois residents on Tuesdays. Echo Mine opens as a copresentation with the Harris Theater for Music and Dance on December 7, 2019. Tickets are available now.
