Event Description

“Ruth Page Festival of Dance” kicks off Ravinia's summer season with two unforgettable performances in honor of the 50th anniversary of The Ruth Page Center for the Arts. As part of the series, these programs highlight the unique artistic collaborations. In addition, Ruth Page Civic Ballet, bringing the elegance, artistry and creative daring of its namesake, will present a world-premiere performance.

The first performance features contemporary and neoclassical work by renowned international choreographers, dance commissioned from Nejla Yatkin and Ruth Page’s groundbreaking 1932 collaboration with artist Isamu Noguchi. The second performance, a stunning showcase of dance and theater, will take place by leading Chicago artists at The Ruth Page Center. Sharing the stage with the Ruth Page Civic Ballet in this mixed program are DanceWorks Chicago, Giordano Dance Chicago, Hedwig Dances and Porchlight Music Theatre.

Performances are Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Highland Park at Ravinia’s Bennett Gordon Hall, 201 St. Johns Ave. Tickets are $20 and now available at Ravinia.org.
