Event Description

Hubbard Street’s Spring Series: RE/CONNECT will be performed at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA). Hubbard Street’s multi-venue season allows new and returning audiences to experience HSDC repertoire in different environments, each with a unique setting that frames a different portrait of the pieces. This diverse slate of locations offers the chance to experience new sensations and make new meaning with each performance —all while providing more opportunities than ever before to experience the limitless range of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.

Returning to the MCA’s intimate Edlis Neeson Theater, the Spring Series features two incredible mixed-repertory programs. Program B in the second week offers a new work by Darrell Grand Moultrie plus Nacho Duato’s Jardí Tancat and Jermaine Maurice Spivey’s new work commissioned by Hubbard Street in the fall.

ABOUT SEASON 44: RE/CHARGE
After a year of reinventing how Hubbard Street brings dance to audiences, we are thrilled to reveal Season 44: RE/CHARGE. Simultaneously reflecting on and charging ahead from this transformative past year, RE/CHARGE represents a chance to acknowledge the experiences of 2020 while launching the next chapter of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, led by newly-appointed Artistic Director Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell. With our long-awaited return to live dance, Season 44: RE/CHARGE, we will: RECONNECT you with the bold contemporary dance you love, REVIVE some Hubbard Street favorites, REINFORCE our commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion throughout the Hubbard Street organization, and REIMAGINE what it means for the arts to be accessible to all, by dancing with schools and communities across Chicago and offering $15 tickets for every performance. Join us for this important season of renewal. RECHARGE with HSDC.
