The A-Squared Asian American Performing Arts Festival

The A-Squared Asian American Performing Arts Festival features four evenings of contemporary dance, music, performance art, puppetry, sound art, spoken word, and theatre by American artists of Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese descent.

The festival runs from October 20 to October 23 with performances starting at 7pm every evening.
On Saturday October 22, there will be a sight, sound and taste
installation delving into the interaction of memory, rapid development and food inspired by Hoi An's outdoor night culture and the diverse Vietnamese cuisine derived from China, France, America and the indigenous people of Vietnam. The dinner will start at 5:15 pm.

The festival is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Illinois Arts Council and the Crane Group.

The presentation of 2125 Stanley Street by Dahlia Nayar was made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts' National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, with additional support from the National Endowment for the Arts.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21, 7:00 PM: 2125 Stanley Street by Dahlia Nayar, Margaret Paek, Loren Kiyoshi Dempster; performance by TJ Medel; performance by Mitsu Salmon; and a performance by Tatsu Aoki.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22, 5:15 PM: Pop-Up Dinner. 7:00 PM: A-Squared Theatre; performance by eedahahm and Lee Chul Woo; performance by Tatsu Aoki; puppetry by Myra Su, Allyson Gonzalez, and Cynthia Campos Costanzo; and a performance by Rohan Zhou-Lee.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23, 7:00 PM: A-Squared Theatre; memory vs. memory by Ly Hoang Ly & Patricia Nguyen; performance by eedahahm and Lee Chul Woo; and a performance by Mitsu Salmon.
