The Abbott Academy Director works as a thought leader and directs the strategic planning for The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, and its related program growth and development. This senior leadership position works collaboratively with staff and board to establish, lead, and implement the Joffrey’s long-term goals and objectives in the Academy and other related programming initiatives, including school, youth, adult, & family programs, teacher training, and ballet training of the highest caliber. The Abbott Academy Director represents the Joffrey Academy internally and externally in areas of dance training, program partnerships, philanthropic outreach, and arts advocacy. The Abbott Academy Director is ultimately responsible for the successful business operations and financial health of the Academy. This position primarily reports to the Artistic Director and works collaboratively with various departments within the organization to achieve strategic objectives, including Advancement, Community Engagement, and the Company Artists.
