The Chief Financial Officer will be a trusted advisor of the Executive Director and Artistic Director and is responsible for ensuring that the Joffrey maximizes all of its resources in support of the fulfillment of the Joffrey’s mission. This individual will provide significant leadership in institutional operations for a world class ballet company, Academy of Dance and Community Engagement programs. 

This individual oversees the administrative, financial, facilities, information systems; helps direct the Joffrey’s long and short-range strategic planning; ensures that all business and support areas of the Joffrey are properly coordinated with programmatic areas through close interaction with the senior management team; works closely with appropriate board committees, members of the Board of Directors and other volunteers in implementing governance strategies and performs other executive leadership duties. Financial responsibilities include reporting, evaluation and analysis, internal controls, financial planning, department management, and other support services to departments within the Joffrey.

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for strategic management in the areas of finance, facility operations and information technology with four direct reports (Controller, Director of Facility Operations, Director of Technology and Administrative Assistant).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
CPA or MBA or equivalent experience required. Minimum ten years senior management experience in total, several in not-for-profit, preferably a cultural institution. Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting and analysis, facilities management, risk management, information systems, as well as extensive background with oversight of contributed and earned income activities. Substantive experience in finance and accounting for 501(C)(3) organizations, excellent command of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and ability to manage a complex operation.
