Marketing Assistant

Synapse Arts is seeking a marketing assistant for a paid position for 6 months beginning in March, 2023.

We are looking for one individual who is interested in using or building their marketing skills and is able to assist with social and email marketing campaigns. This part time position 5 hours per week on a flexible schedule and is paid $15 per hour.

We are looking for individuals who are comfortable communicating quickly over email and working with Google suites, as those are the main ways our small staff communicates. We work mostly remotely, and sometimes in person at our main office and rehearsal locations on the north side, in Rogers Park and Edgewater.

The Marketing Assistant will
-learn to use (or expand their knowledge of) Trello, Canva, Google Docs, Toggl, Mail Chimp, and potentially PageCloud if they have interest in website work
-coordinate with staff via email, productivity tools, and occasional meetings
-maintain the marketing plan due dates
-update the company’s press list
-send the spring press release
-coordinate social media postings with Synapse Social Media Coordinator Dylan Roth
-update our online listings document
-post online event listings
-send eblasts
-draft and potentially make website updates
-do press follow ups by email/phone
-create a press kit for New Works 2023, we do this as a publicly accessible Drive folder
-create a press kit for Crosswalk Dances 2023, also in a Drive folder
-distribute printed postcards
