The American Rhythm is no longer operating. The Chicago Human Rhythm Project purchased our new permanent home at 8701 S. Bennett Ave in late 2021, and we moved our arts incubator and classes to the Mayfair Arts Center. We have been operating from that location since January 2022. Lane Alexander still teaches two tap classes on Saturdays at the Fine Arts Building, but all other CHRP classes are at the Mayfair Arts Center. For more information and class schedules, please check www.chicagotap.org/mayfair-arts-center.
With over 30 partners in residence, and classes ranging from American Tap, Afro-Fusion, Bollywood, Modern, Hip Hop, Capoeira, Yoga, and a variety of Wellness/Fitness classes, the American Rhythm Center is one of Chicago's most diverse dance centers. Located on the 3rd floor of the beautiful Fine Arts Building, the ARC offers classes seven days a week for students of all ages.
The ARC is an incubator and business development center for small to mid-sized companies, as well as emerging companies and independent artists. The ARC offers diverse, high-quality dance and wellness/fitness classes to the general public while centralizing the education programs, rehearsal space, and administrative offices of these independent organizations, nurturing organic business growth and sustainability.
The ARC also serves as a community development center with studio space available for rent. For more information about classes, space rental, or to become a partner, please contact us at info@arcchicago.org or call 312-922-1272.
