The Canopy Club opened its doors in 1998 as the downstate Illinois home for live music, entertainment and night life. Much like the canopy of the rainforest is the Earth’s most bio-diverse region, the Canopy Club is committed to diversity in the entertainment we provide for our patron base. We also strive to foster an environment of activism for positive social and environmental change by hosting various benefits and informational gatherings. In working to achieve the highest level of entertainment, we pride ourself on being able to offer entertainment for all walks of life. The Canopy Club is 3 Venues in 1
The Canopy Club is really 3 venues in one. In attempts to make the Canopy Club accessible to as many artists as possible, the room can be set-up in the 3 ways listed below.
The Void Room
Our smallest set up in our more intimate front bar area. In 2005 the Canopy Club’s front room was redesigned to better accommodate much of the local and regional live music scene throughout the Midwest, filling a significant void in the Urbana-Champaign live music scene.
The Small Hall
A cut down of our large room designed for medium sized crowds. To make the Canopy Club more accessible for more artists and events, the Small Hall can be created by creatively using pipe and drape, to make the main room more intimate and cozy.
The Theater
Our full size concert venue. This is the Canopy Club that everyone knows. The Theater stage has played host to some of the most legendary and talented performances Urbana-Champaign has ever seen and heard.
