UneARTh: A multimedia non-profit organization that utilizes the artists’ platform as a vehicle to actively take steps to address issues related to climate change by:
1. Providing an inclusive platform that amplifies artists’ voices by creating resources, collaborations and opportunities to do so
2. Making art, sustainable earth practices, & education accessible to the community
3. Providing resources to the community and artists to promote sustainable art practices
4. Centering our passions, privileges, and resources for Mother Earth & all of its inhabitants
Founders, Abby and Sara, grew up in Claremont, CA, nicknamed “the city of trees and PHDs.” It was here that they were immersed in a very unified community that practices two unspoken rules: respect others, and respect nature. Abby and Sara are concerned that climate change disproportionately affects black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC). They feel that it is essential that the voices of these communities are heard within the conversation of climate activism. They also believe that the arts can raise awareness to these issues and can call people to action. With this in mind, the two came together in 2020 to create uneARTh, an online organization that aims to amplify the voices of multimedia artists who are making waves within their communities to challenge and transform the world as we know it. UneARTh recently obtained their 510(c)(3) non-profit status in 2021.
