Performance
Join the Smart Museum of Art and University Ballet of Chicago for a ballet performance that contrasts music and style, movement and stillness, and the classical and the contemporary.
Choreographed by Magdalena Glotzer, a third-year student at the University of Chicago, 'A Classical Ballet' is inspired by the comparative themes of the Smart's special exhibition Classicisms (on view through June 11).
A brief panel discussion, tour of Classicisms, and reception will follow the performance.
About the Choreographer
Magdalena Glotzer is a third year student at the University of Chicago, pursuing a major in Art History. She has danced since the age of three and began exploring the realm of choreography as a teenager. This past May, she choreographed a section of University Ballet’s “Where fun comes to dance” set and has been searching for more opportunities to choreograph ever since.
