Sunday ,April27,2014-2:00 pm

Event Description

Multi-disciplinary

Performance

The Seldoms bring back their dance theater work about the divisive national debate over climate change, within the larger setting of a symposium around environmental performance and issue-based art-making.

A pre-performance talk with Artistic Director Carrie Hanson and The Seldoms’ dramaturg and NU faculty member, historian Michael J. Kramer, precedes the performance on Friday, April 25 at 6:45pm. A post-performance conversation follows the performance on Saturday, April 26.

Praise for Exit Disclaimer:

“Dance and hot political issues are not the most common of allies, but allegiances do occur…Hanson’s usual expert mix of somber, precisely calibrated and evocative abstract movement …with humorous dance theater”seechicagodance.com

“Conventional, Carrie Hanson is not. It’s refreshing to see a choreographer who’s always willing to test the boundaries of possibilities, even in the most polarizing of political subject.” TimeOut Chicago

“Hanson’s satirical, deadly serious piece bursts a lot of bubbles on a high-stakes subject.” Chicago Reader

“The dancers are wonderful, as always, sharp in movement, daring in energy and keenly, icily witty.” Chicago Tribune
