Ballet 5:8 presents Musings, a mixed program as part of Dance Chicago's New Moves series. The evening includes three works choreographed by Ballet 5:8 Artistic Director Julianna Slager. Indwelling, originally premiered in 2012, dwells on the struggle within between good and evil. Sigao Ekklesia takes on a different perspective, struggling with questions about religion and church with raw, honest movements set against the majestic sound of Haydn's Stabat Matter. Finally, the premiere of Musings…Or Don't Take Yourself So Seriously presents a more lighthearted form of reflection as peels back the layers of the stoic, often mythical in persona of a ballerina.
