Old Town School of Folk Music presents Art of Being: Relating as a Wave-Particle Dance/Movement Workshop with Ayako Kato

Beginning with grounding and uplifting somatic and improvisational exercises inspired by Quantum Entanglement/Cosmology, Ayako will guide you to open up space in you and dance as fully and freely as wave-particles! This is an open-level dance/movement class. Practitioners of all forms of dance, theater, music, arts, and movement lovers are welcome. Dress comfortably so you can move with ease. Just come with your dancing spirit!

Ayako Kato, a 2023 United States Artist Fellow, is a kinetic philosopher/poet born and raised in Japan. Since 1998, Ayako has been in collaboration with over 100 experimental musicians and composers through Ayako Kato/Art Union Humanscape. Her projects have been grounded on the principles of fūryū, Japanese for “wind flow,” being as it is, a cyclical transformational motion following nature. She presents solo, ensemble pieces, and movement installations for traditional stages and large scale site-specific locations in the US, Europe, and Asia.
