Red Clay Dance Company's Youth Summer Intensive is a specialized opportunity for intermediate level young dancers to train at our NEW center in Chicago’s Woodlawn community. Rooted in African Diasporic dance and movement forms, this rigorous program features culturally responsive professional development workshops, training with Artivists from our Academy, Touring Company, and notable Artivists from the Chicagoland area. In four weeks, young performers and choreographers are immersed in a practice to define their distinct artistic voices and build the skills necessary for a sustainable arts career.

The Summer Intensive runs Monday-Friday 12pm-5pm from July 11th to August 5th. An audition for the Red Clay Dance Youth Ensemble takes place on the last Thursday of the intensive, and a culminating event to share artistic projects created during the intensive will take place on the last day.
