Steps in the Garden: Dance at Cheney Mansion
Sunday, October 4 at 4:00pm
Cheney Mansion Garden, 220 N. Euclid Ave., Oak Park

Steps in the Garden will take a live audience (and later, a live stream audience) on a spectacular journey through Oak Park's Cheney Mansion garden.  The dance is in two parts: the first includes viewing 5 different dances along the Cheney garden path, and the second features a group work performed in the open garden area.

For the first section, audience members will take a socially distanced stroll, in groups of 8-10, along the garden path, visiting 5 different garden sites. At each site there will be a brief solo or duet performed by Company dancers. This garden walk will take approximately 30 minutes.

For the section part, audience members will be seated, in a socially distant fashion, facing the open garden area. Company dancers will perform a group dance featuring movement designs inspired by the urban garden setting of Cheney Mansion. This section is 15 minutes.

All audience members and performers will wear masks and keep at least 6-8 feet apart. Audience size is limited to 50. The entire event is outdoors and will last approximately 50-60 minutes. This event has approved by the Oak Park Dept. of Public Health.
