Join See Chicago Dance for the Summer Community Convening, Wednesday, August 26, 12:00–1:30 PM at the Menomonee Club in Old Town. Kacie Smith (Arts Alliance Illinois) and Jose Rizal (Protect Rogers Park) will share two distinct yet complementary perspectives on advocacy and the fight for justice: from governmental institutions to on-the-ground, community-driven organizing initiatives. Both speakers will share insights from their work and demonstrate how artists are the best advocates for themselves and each other. All guests will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A with the speakers following the presentations. There will also be ample time for communal networking and resource sharing.
