Join us to learn the basics of Swing Dance. A free one hour workshop with two hours of social dancing to follow! No previous dance experience required. Individual dancers and couples are welcome to join in! Adults of all ages and dance levels are welcome!
Led by Emma and Michael Friend and Casey Brayndick. Emma and Mike have been Swing Dancing for over 15 years, and taught Swing classes through the Swing Dance Club at Lawrence University. Casey and Emma have danced other styles since they were 3 years old, Casey learned Swing from Emma, and they have taught workshops together at Knox College and in Buxton, England! They’ve both created and performed in many Dancing On The Spot shows as well. All together the trio have danced in places all over the Chicago-land area, especially at Big City Swing, Fizz, and Traffic Jam, but also in bookstores, grocery stores, restaurants, anywhere music might be playing!
