HCL Sponsored Artists HPP offers an interactive experience combining music, storytelling, dance, and YOU! Each session features a uniquely curated set by DJ Jo De Presser, exalting house and other 20th century musical genres that have influenced Chicago’s sound culture. Part of Juke Cry Hand Clap, HPP’s sponsored project at HCL, these monthly gatherings are designed to create a map of well-paved Chicago house venues and experiences. HPP’s community created archive will historicize local house music’s roots in the evolution of the Great Migration.

April 25 (Disco) features an exhibition of Chicago house archival materials in partnership with the Modern Dance Music Research and Archiving Foundation from 8p-10p.
