HPSD’s famed “Young Choreographers Workshop” is a terrific opportunity for dancers interested in learning the art of creating their own works.  Students may sign up for a half day (9:00am-12:00pm) or for a full day (9:00am-4:00pm).  Each day begins with a dance warm-up class followed by an hour learning techniques choreographers draw upon to create their works.  We’ll spend the next two hours working on individual and/or small group choreography projects.  Students who elect to take the full-day session will break for an hour’s picnic lunch (bring your own) and then return to the studio for an hour studying famous choreographers, costuming ideas, music choices, etc.  Finally, the day ends with two more hours of choreography work and critiques. Friends, family, and guests will be invited to a special in-studio showing of the dancers’ newly created pieces on Saturday, July 11! Suitable for individuals who have some experience in creating dance and for students who are completely new. Dancers will be divided into two levels based on their choreographic experience.  Age 9+ yrs
