HEDWIG DANCES seeks an engaged, strategic, and collaborative individual to join our Board of Directors as we enter our 41st season (beginning January 2026).
In 2025, Hedwig Dances celebrated an important milestone- 40 years of dance history! We move into 2026 with renewed vision of what our future holds, beginning with its popular community dance classes and a new set of choreographed works by two company members & Artistic Director Jan Bartoszek.
Ideal candidates will have:
- A passion for contemporary dance/the arts, a desire to support artists & community-driven work
- Experience in fundraising and/or nonprofit leadership
- Knowledge of Chicago’s arts and cultural ecosystem
- Share our commitment to artistic innovation and ongoing expansion of community engagement efforts.
Board Commitment:
- Participation & Attendance: Board members are expected to attend monthly board meetings. Dates fall on the third Monday of each month.
- Consultation & Outreach: Serve as an active voice of support and guidance for company projects.
- Fundraising & Advocacy
