Lexi Sutter is an award-winning reporter who joined the NBC Chicago team in 2018.
Lexi worked at television stations in Phoenix, Kansas City, and Peoria, IL , before returning home to Chicago.
Her career has taken her across the country, and she has experience covering all sorts of topics.
She once traveled to Guam embedded with the Air National Guard and earlier this year, flew out to Los Angeles to provide coverage for NBC News of the wildfires disaster. She’s won two Emmy awards in her career: one for a deep-dive investigation into an abusive medical provider in Kansas, and one for her work on the frontlines of the riots during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, Lexi covers general assignment news across Chicagoland and hosts a weekly series called “Only in Chicago.”
Lexi grew up dancing. She was a part of the Twin Cities Ballet Company in Bloomington, IL, and for more than a decade, danced nearly every night of the week. Her love for dance has transcended the years, and today, she still enjoys taking ballet, jazz, and hip-hop classes in the evenings.
