Organization: Dancing On The Spot

Casting dancers (and a musician) for a 45–60 minute contact improvisation dance piece. The work will use recorded interviews with artists as the basis for a found-poem or spoken-word soundscape around which movement structures will be created. The director will teach contact improvisation during rehearsal and build connection among performers. Rehearsals begin the week of September 15th (Tues and Thurs evenings; Saturday and Sunday daytime) in north side Chicago; loads into Berger Park Coach House Theater (6205 N. Sheridan Rd., Chicago) on October 31 during the day; tech rehearsals Nov. 2-5 in the evenings; performs Nov. 6-7, 13-14, 19-21 at Berger Park Coach House Theater. There are small thank you stipends for these roles; they are not hourly paid positions.
Dancers must be available for rehearsals, tech week, and all performances. the musician would attend some rehearsals, all of tech week, and all performances.
