As a service organization, we amplify, convene, produce, facilitate, and advocate for our dancing communities.
In 2025, as government and private philanthropic priorities are shifting, SCD is relying more and more on regular donations from individuals like you to enable us to continue our service to the field.
SCD membership has grown over 400% in the last four years and demand for our programs and services, including our community-sourced website, has never been greater. Here are some examples of how we will put your valuable assistance to work:
- $50 is the discount SCD members receive for online advertising
- $100 covers the artist fee for one Chicago Dance Month performer
- $250 makes you a DanceBuilder!*
- $500 pays production costs for one Community Convening
- $1,000 pays for a full suite of accessibility accommodations at one live SCD event (ASL interpretation, CART captioning, audio description, large-print programs)
- $2,500 protects the new SCD website with state-of-the-art data security
- $5,000 underwrites SeeChicagoDance.com’s dance journalism program
- $7,500 enables us to provide health insurance for two full-time SCD employees
- $10,000 supports the provision of SCD programs and services to our ever-growing member base. (Membership fees have been waived since 2020.
