“SOARING: Life, Light, and Legacy,” is a celebration of the joy of living, the brilliance of light, and the lasting impact of Nan Giordano’s 40 years at the helm of Giordano Dance Chicago and the vibrant life of her beloved son, Keenan Giordano Casey.
Filled with beauty, heart, energy and soul, the performances feature three new works: “Sana,” a full company work by Emmy Award-winning Resident Choreographer Al Blackstone, “333,” a solo by Nan Giordano and Associate Artistic Director Cesar G. Salinas created for company dancer Erina Ueda and “Soaring,” a multi-media tribute to Keenan Giordano Casey. Three works from GDC’s repertoire complete the program: “Groove, in formed” (2019), by choreographer Peter Chu, “Taal” (2001), by Nan Giordano in collaboration with Natya Dance Theatre, and “Red & Black” (2024), by Ray Leeper
