The Royal Ballet Artist in Residence Liam Scarlett brings his impressive body of work to the Joffrey for the first time. In Vespertine, Scarlett takes inspiration from the spellbinding music of the Baroque period. Created for the Norwegian National Ballet in 2013, this abstract ballet evokes classicism and athleticism all in one, set amidst a scenic display of custom chandeliers. Andrea Walker, Founder and Artistic Director of London’s cutting-edge 201 Dance Company, brings his striking sensibility state-side with a new work created exclusively for The Joffrey Ballet. Walker, known for his work with international sensations Coldplay and Lady Gaga, takes dance-theater to a new level by bending genres and shining light on the politics of today.
