The Seldoms invite outstanding dance artists to audition to join for projects and performances in our 22nd season.
Strong candidates will have:
- strong modern/contemporary technique
- readiness to experiment in other styles
- excellent performance and composition skills
- professionalism, maturity, and collaborative spirit
PLEASE READ BELOW:
Must be available to rehearse on Tuesdays, 12-4pm and Thursdays 10am-1pm. Rehearsals begin in November 2024. Major performances are currently scheduled for May 2025 and July 2025. Dancers are compensated for company class, rehearsal, and performance.
What we'll do in the audition:
We'll lead a short modern/contemporary based warm-up class, and teach repertory phrases from two works.
What you need to do in advance:
We're interested in seeing you perform your own personal movement. Please prepare a 15-30 second (no longer) solo to share. You don't need to provide sound. This can be an improvisation if that makes sense for you, but note that we typically spend a lot of time detailing and crafting exact movement.
Please bring your resumé and a current photo of yourself (don't struggle to get a great quality print if you don't have that...we just need to match names and faces).
