The Fall 2022 B-Series Festival, B-ALL ACCESS, celebrates extravagant bodies and enlivens the notion that everyone's a V.I.P.! Hip-Hop has always called the canon into question and flipped hierarchy on its head. Through workshops, conversations, performances, dance jams, and battles, B-ALL ACCESS asks: what can Hip-Hop and street dance cultures teach us about erasing abled/disabled binaries and disrupting notions of otherness? In what ways do we still fall short? How can we build spaces that welcome and invite all bodies to show up fully as their authentic selves?

ACCESSIBILITY
ASL, wheelchair accessible seating, sensory room with sensory kits, exit/entry permitted throughout entire event, loud music, and club-style lighting (no strobes). Please complete accessibility form when you register, if you have additional needs not listed here.
BATTLE WITH A DANCE PARTY AND STREET-DANCE JAM
$1,000 1st Place Prize (for Five-Person Squad)
WITH DJ’S
King Genius (KNG), Ron Ron, and Nimberoni Alfredo, featuring head-to-head freestyle dance battles and performances.
Attendees may enter and exit within the 5-hour timeframe.
JUDGES
Junior (Red Bull BC One All Star), Crutch Master (StepFenz), Fabulous Freddie Prodigy (House of Prodigy), Crumbles (Gravity Benders), Diamond (Chicago Footwork).
The Break-Open Battle includes three prelim categories: breaking, open-styles and Columbia students. The Top 8 will be selected from each category and randomly joined into three-person squads (one breaker, one open-stylist, and one student). From there, we move into "build-a-crew format" where the winning squad gets to bring one dancer from the "losing" squad to join them. Resulting in a 5v5 Final Battle.
