There will be only one audition this year for Chicago Dance Crash 2023 ensemble positions and it is in Chicago!

Artistic Director Jessica Deahr will be looking for dancers with strong hip hop and contemporary technique. Gymnastics or acrobatic experience is a plus. Audition will consist of a barefoot, contemporary combination followed by a hip hop combination (shoes preferred by not required). Selected dancers may be asked to perform a very short freestyle to music of our choice. A group warm-up will not be provided though all are welcome to arrive as early as 2:30p to prepare.
Headshots and resumes are accepted but not at all required. All auditionees will be asked to complete a very brief application including name and contact info, previous experience and 2023 availability.

Described by Dance Magazine as “Matthew Bourne, but with a more primitive, ritualistic, streetwise attack”, Crash will be entering its 21st Season of 50+ performances including repertory concerts, freestyle works, full-length productions, school assemblies, battles, and site-specific installations performed locally, across the U.S., and internationally. Dancers invited to join the 2023 Performance Ensemble must relocate to Chicago, IL and 2023 contracts are currently scheduled to occur from March through November. Ensemble dancers are paid a monthly rehearsal retainer as well as performance stipends and travel. One unpaid performing apprentice is selected annually.
