Event Description

Clinard Dance Theatre's new Chicago's Watershed: A 156-Mile Choreography takes Stravinsky's revolutionary Rite of Spring as a launching off point for an exploration of the ebb and flow of life along the Chicago River.

Driven by Wendy Clinard's original flamenco-based choreography and with musical accompaniment by EStrella Duo and video-projected ink work by Dmitry Samarov, Chicago's Watershed  is a striking rhythmic dialogue between city, man and river.

This program also features excerpts from Clinard Dance's critically acclaimed repertory work From the Arctic to the Middle East: (Broken Narratives by an American Flamenco Dancer)

A contemporary dance company on the leading edge of American flamenco, Clinard Dance brings together people from a diverse range of artistic disciplines and cultural backgrounds to create provocative works that explore personal and global concerns that connect the audience to the world through art.
