Community Movement Workshop
6:15-7:45pm, limited to 25 participants, for ages 15 & up
Led by Annie Arnoult, Artistic Director of Open Dance Project, and Company Member, Joseph Stevens, this interactive workshop guides participants through the process of devising ensemble movement, text, and physical narrative through guided composition exercises.
Film Screening
8:00-9:00pm, limited to 50 audience members, for ages 15 & up
Performed by Open Dance Project, “All the Devils are Here: A Tempest in the Galapagos” collides Shakespeare’s The Tempest with the true story of an unsolved murder in the Galapagos in 1929 in an immersive dance theater performance. Filmed during a live performance, this piece presents conflicting visions of Paradise, sexual and moral “rightness”, colonial instincts, and social and psychological demons lead to disaster and provide a rich canvas for a poignant examination of basic human rights, social justice, and power structures.
$35 for full workshop, screening included. $15 for screening only. Pre-registration required for workshop, limited to 25 participants. All participants must be fully vaccinated two weeks prior, and show proof of vaccination upon arrival.
