con-CEP+ Dances is a Chicago-based cooperative of dance artists who seek to collaborate through choreography, methods of movement, and styles of performance. With the vision of becoming a support system for Chicago's dance community, con-CEP+ Dances premieres "however", to bring attention to divergent ideas in order to mold them into fresh performances conceptually and intuitively driven.

Inspired by our own experiences and relationships with dance and Chicago’s dance community, "however" is a performative conversation wondering deeply how we think about empathy and connections. Afraid of isolation, people try to find the right communities, push to know everybody and build connections within the community. Fear of not having the right kind or amount of connection. But perhaps, like a chair, when one sits with who they are, there is no fear, no force. And those who find the seats of their souls, find one another.

Performed by: Carly Broutman, Elijah Motley, Timothy Tsang, Krista Zozulia
